Description
Engraved invitation with script lettering from George and Emma Childs to Ferdinand J. Dreer. George W. Childs (1829-1894) was a publisher who co-owned the Public Ledger newspaper. Ferdinand J. Dreer (1812-1902) was a Philadelphia goldsmith, jeweler, and autograph collector. Charles Kingsley (1819-1875) was the Canon of Westminster Abbey and a novelist who toured America in 1874. Rose Georgina Kingsley was the eldest daughter of Charles and an author of several books.
