Description
View of the Girard Avenue Bridge, completed in 1872 to 1874 after the designs of Philadelphia architects Henry A. and James P. Sims, over the Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park. The wrought-iron Pennsylvania Railroad bridge, demolished in 1971, also served as a pedestrian bridge. Shows shrubs and trees growing on boths sides of the shoreline.
