Taylor, Frank H. (Frank Hamilton), 1846-1927
Title
Buildings Once Facing Old Fairmount
Date
ca. 1922
Notes
View of Landing Avenue, near Fairmount Park, and the buildings that lined the street. Pedestrians are in the park and horse-drawn trollies travel down the avenue.
This drawing, copied form a water color of fifty years ago, will recall to older Philadelphians the array of structures which fronted upon Fairmount before the city included the site within the grounds of the Park. The drive between the Park entrance at the monumental Washington group and the Lincoln statue follows nearly the street depicted, which was called Landing avenue.
