Description
In the foreground center, a black man reads aloud from the Bible while a girl kneels and prays before him. In their immediatie proximity, a mother holds her two small children. Behind them, several figures perform various chores and tasks. A group congregates in the middle-ground, and what looks to be a representation of Monticello is visible in the background.
