Description Image depicts an incident that occurred in the North (presumably, New York) in November, 1836. Peter John Lee, a free black man from Westchester, New York, was kidnapped by Tobias Boudinot, E.K. Waddy, John Lyon, and Daniel D. Nash, all of New York City, who gagged and chained him, and then hurried him away from his wife and children into slavery.
