Physical Description
1 photograph: gelatin silver print; 4 x 5 in.
Description
Photograph showing a woman and three children walking down a path through a field behind the Morris family home Cedar Mer. The children probably include Marriott C. Morris' sons Elliston Perot Morris Jr. and Marriott Canby Morris Jr., and his niece Helen Dickey Potts. The woman bends down to hold the youngest child's hand while the other two children look on. A man's shadow is visible in the foreground. Quaker architect Hibberd Yarnall built the summer home Cedar Mer around 1875. After his death in 1882, Elliston Perot Morris bought the property. Morris left Cedar Mer to his son Marriott Canby Morris in his will. It was sold in 1951 after his death. By 1958 the house had been demolished.
