Glass negative showing the King Property, a two-story stone house with a steep roof, at 5411 Germantown Avenue. Trolley tracks run down the center of the brick road. A dog stands beneath one of the trees growing in planters along the sidewalk. Rev. John William Runkle occupied the residence in 1809. It became known as the King property for later owner Joseph King. St. Luke’s Church purchased the property between 1869 and 1873, and it eventually became a part of the church’s lawn.
