Description
View photographed following a snowstorm showing the 900-800 blocks of Chestnut Street. Includes the Girard House hotel, built 1851-1852 after the designs of John McArthur, Jr., at 823-838 Chestnut Street. Also shows signage adorning Besson & Son, mourning store (918 Chestnut) and Geo. Fryer, dry goods store (916 Chestnut) in the foreground. Snow covers buildings' awnings and the street. A few pedestrians walk on the sidewalk, a man sits on an awning, and an individual leans from an upper window to sweep snow from a ledge.
