Description
View looking east from below Eighth Street showing businesses, including tenants of the Masonic Hall, on the 700 block of Chestnut Street. Shows A. Hildebrandt, fancy baskets and toys and G.W. Stead, cigar store (713-721 Chestnut) adjacent to the Washington House hotel (709-711 Chestnut). Hotel under the proprietorship of A.F. Glass. Storefronts demolished in 1853 for the erection of the new Masonic Hall.
