Exterior view of the Protestant Episcopal church, Church of the Redemption, built 1846 on the 2200 block of Callowhill Street. Also shows neighboring buildings. George A. Durborrow served as rector of the church 1846-1869.

Title and date from transcribed scrapbook inscription.
Originally part of a McAllister scrapbook of views of Philadelphia.

McClees, a prominent Philadelphia photographer and daguerreotypist, produced some of the earliest paper photographic views of Philadelphia between 1853 and 1859.
