Description |
Dedication officials, including President Theodore Roosevelt, walk from the main entrance of the Capitol building and pass
by the bronze equestrian statue of former Pennsylvania Governor, General John Frederick Hartranft, sculpted by Frederick W.
Ruckstuhl and installed in 1899. Joseph M. Huston was commissioned to design the new Capitol, constructed between 1902 and
1906, to house the Pennsylvania General Assembly, the chambers of the Sumpreme Court of Pennsylvania, and the offices of the
Governor.
