Description
Depicts the principal mural artist for the Pennsylvania State Capitol building, Violet Oakley, standing on an elevated wooden platform, posing with a palette in her left hand, and a paintbrush in her right hand, before her Forty-four feet long Senate Chamber mural, International Understanding and Unity: Supreme Manifestation of Enlightenment Prophecy of William Penn. Visible in this photograph is the woman with outstretched hands, which symbolizes the "Water of Life" or "Unity." Oakley is attired in a smock over a dress with a straight skirt.
