The 5th Regiment of Baker's Brigade, the 106th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers, was organized Aug. to Oct. 1861 and
mustered out June 30, 1865; Edward D. Baker was killed at the battle of Ball's Bluff, Va., Oct. 21, 1861; Ford, Foliot, and
Wetzler in fact had command of Company I. Cf. S.P. Bates. History of Pennsylvania Volunteers, v. 3, p. 828, and F.H. Taylor.
