Description
Half-length, forward facing portrait of a white man. Sitter has dark hair, parted to the right, and pink tinting on his lips and cheeks. He is attired in a white shirt, a bowtie, a waistcoat, and a jacket. His slightly curled right hand rests on his leg. His left arm and hand rest on a side table in the right.

Date inferred from dates of operation of photographer at address in photographer’s imprint.
Pink tinting on lips and cheeks.

Pad: Brown velvet embossed with photographer’s imprint “Willard, No. 1628 Market St.” in the center.
Mat: Oval.
Case: Leather. Mother of pearl inlay in a geometric design in the center. Some pieces of inlay lacking. No design on verso.
