In the 82nd Infantry Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers, a John T. O'Brien was 1st Sergeant of Company K until Nov. 2, 1861, when he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant of Company F; he was promoted to Captain of Company C on Nov. 23, 1861. Cf. S.P. Bates. History of Pennsylvania Volunteers, v. 2, p. 1216.
Printed in red.
The illustration, signed L. Johnson & Co., is an eagle on a shield with the banner: No compromise with traitors, and no argument but the cannon's mouth.
