Description Racist trade card promoting the Globe Clothing House in Baltimore and depicting a caricature of a fashionably dressed African American man carrying a cane. Shows an African American man attired in black dress shoes, white socks, black pants, a white collared shirt and bowtie, a red waistcoat, and a green jacket with tails. He opens his mouth in a smile as he struts carrying a cane in his right hand. The trade card is shaped like an artist's palette with colorful paints in the left. The Globe Clothing House opened on 25 N. Eutaw Street, Baltimore, MD in 1882. Austin J. Kuhns & Co. acquired the store in September, 1885.
