Description |
Die-cut scrap depicting a racist caricature of an African American man trying to control the horse pulling the cart he is
riding in. Shows the man, attired in a white top hat, yellow gloves, a white collared shirt, a blue bowtie, a black jacket
with tails, white pants, and black shoes, seated on a two-wheeled cart. He opens his mouth in alarm as he pulls back on the
reins of the brown horse hauling the cart. The horse’s mouth is open as it runs off making the cart jerk, causing its right
wheel to lift off of the ground. The man also carries a whip in his right hand.
