Description
Photographic reproduction of a caricature depicting Jefferson Davis and prominent Peace Democrats, i.e. copperheads, as a nest of snakes in the grass. Includes Davis, Charles Ingersoll, William B. Reed, James Buchanan, Fernando Wood, Rev. John Chambers, Clement L. Vallandingham, and Rev. Wilmer, possibly chaplain to Confederate soldiers George T. Wilmer.
