View of interior decorated for Christmas holidays. Giant wreath and candles adorn the large pipe organ while lit trees and wreaths decorate display case area. Banner with central star recording the number of Philadelphia casualties in World War II hangs below organ. Visible in center of court is back of large eagle sculpture by August Gaul. Building, designed by Daniel H. Burnham & Co., opened in Philadelphia in 1911 as one of the world's largest retail merchandising building.
