Dear sir, We have reason to believe that you will agree with us in regarding the soldiers' vote, at the coming presidential election, as of the highest importance. It is known that many votes were lost at the late state election, from inattention to the provisions of the law passed on the 25th of August last, regulating elections by soldiers in actual military service. Any measures which may be adopted by the State Committee, by the Union League, which we represent, or by other patriotic bodies working in cordial co-operation with both, will be of no avail, unless the soldier is made secure of his right to vote
