Photographer's manuscript note on verso: A more romantic stretch of road than the Wissahickon Drive, but not as well kept. Deserted old houses, old bridge heads, huge rock outcroppings, a laughing stream that ever and anon in placid mood seems to whimsically borrod over the sun kissed ripples that have gone or the babble of playful turbulance [sic] to the fore. All these things greet the eye. Travelers do not jamb the road or paths and automobiles praise Heaven are few.
