This regiment is now doing garrison duty in the fortifications for the defence of the city of Washington, and wishing to fill up their numbers to the maximum standard, have opened for that purpose recruiting offices at No. 138 S. Charles Angeroth was authorized in Oct. 1861 to raise a battalion of heavy artillery; the 112th Regiment, 2nd Artillery of the Pennsylvania Volunteers, was mustered in Jan. 8, 1862 and mustered out Jan. 29, 1866; Angeroth was discharged June 21, 1862 and replaced by A.A.
