Description |
Construction view looking northeast showing the front and west flank of the exhibition hall, also known as the Art Gallery,
built 1874-1876 after designs by Hermann J. Schwarzmann. In the foreground, railroad tracks extend toward the building and
a construction site with piles of lumber and frame structures is set up. Exhibition hall built for the International Exhibition,
which celebrated the centennial of the United States through an international exhibition of industry, agriculture, and art.
