Description
View looking east from Sixteenth Street showing brick row houses on the south side of Locust Street and the Gothic-style Presbyterian church built 1851-1853 after the designs of John Notman (1508-1514 Locust Street). a pile of rubble sits in the street in the foreground. The church was completed for a dissenting congregation that included locomotive industrialist Matthias Baldwin who contributed $10,000 to the over $100,000 construction and land fees.
