Description Interior view showing the Assembly Room of the State House when used as an exhibit gallery. Shows framed portrait paintings of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, predominately from the Charles Wilson Peale collection; a framed commemorative print in honor of the Declaration of Independence; and the "Rising Sun" chair (used by George Washington as he presided over the Constitutional Convention) behind a desk on a platform. State House built 1732-1748 after the designs of Andrew Hamilton and Edmund Woolley.
