Description
View showing the Upper Ferry Tavern on the West Bank of the Schuylkill River (Fairmount Park). The tavern, opened in 1820, was also known as Harding's Hotel after Richard Harding, one of its later proprietors. Includes partial views of adjacent buildings.

Biographical / historical note
The Langenheim brothers, William and Frederick, were pioneer photographers and stereograph publishers who operated a photographic studio in Philadelphia from the 1840s to 1874 and the death of William.
