Description
Interior view of warehouse on Spring Garden Street above Ridge Road [i.e. Avenue] showing carved marble monuments including ornate gravestones, a fountain, and statues. The marble works, founded by John Baird in 1841 specialized in monumental art, principally of Italian marble. The firm was the first marble works of the city to use a steam powered mill.
