Description |
View showing North Eighth Street between Market and Arch streets. Businesses include a photographic studio, job printing office,
drapery store, furniture company, and Espen & Brother's lace emporium (31 N. 8th). Storefronts are heavily adorned with signage
as well as ornamental animal decorations, including, an ostrich, an elephant, and eagles. Horse-drawn carriages line the street
and several pedestrians walk on the sidewalk under the buildings' awnings. Espen & Brother vacated 31 North Eighth Street
circa 1864.
