Description
View looking east from the U.S. Custom House at 420 Chestnut Street. Shows the tobacco store of M.B. Dean (413 Chestnut) and partial views of the Philadelphia National Bank building (419 Chestnut) and the Philadelphia Bank Building (400-408 Chestnut, built 1836). Also shows adjacent businesses; horse-drawn carts and carriages traveling and lining the street; and flags adorning several of the buildings.
