Description |
Shows Coombs, the popular scientist, phrenologist, and photographer dressed as William Penn and embracing the Penn statue.
Statue, attributed to John Cheere or John Bacon, was installed in the Pine Street Garden at the Pennsylvania Hospital (801-849
Pine Street ). Penn holds the Charter of Pennsylvania and the statue rests on a based inscribed "Presented by John Penn A.D.
1804."
