Description
View showing the working central marble fountain in the public square, originally known as the Northeast Square, laid out between Race, Vine, North Sixth, and North Franklin streets. Built in 1837, the fountain was one of several improvements to the square following the relinquishment of the grounds by the German Reformed Church circa 1836. Also shows buildings lining the plaza in the distant background. Square renamed in 1825.
