Description
View showing the German Peace Jubilee procession in celebration of the German victory in the Franco-Prussian War. Procession includes a horse-drawn float and several marching parade participants. Spectators crowd the sidewalks and the balcony of the office building, Jayne's Hall (625-631 Chestnut), which is adorned in bunting and displaying signage advertising a dry goods store. Also shows a partial view of the 700 block of Chestnut Street, including Joseph Monier's bookbinding establishment at Seventh and Chestnut.
