Description Comic genre scene set at a shoemaker's shop depicting a cobbler's assistant measuring the stocking foot of a woman, who is seated with her skirt slightly raised. Her female companion and the shoemaker, who has stopped work on a boot, watch with concern. Also shows a painted backdrop adorned with shoes and cobbler's tools.
