Description
Series of illustrated trade cards entitled, "Sweepe withe ye olde yeere all that's bad awaie, and a newe lyfe begynne on Newe Yeere's Day," "Ye Newe Yeere cometh, so I pray of you putte offe ye olde manne & putte on ye newe," and "If Newe Yeere bring thee aught lyke this let's hope thou may'st deserve thy blisse". Illustrations depict symbols of the New Year, including an old man sweeping inside near an ornate door with a poster reading "This house to let apply"; one man entering a room as another man leaves at the stroke of midnight; and a man kneeling down to pick a flower from the base of a tree as his female companion stands nearby.
