Description
Photographic reproduction of a lithographic facsimile of the original draft of the proclamation printed and sold as a fundraiser for the Soldiers Home of Chicago. Facsimile includes a portrait of Lincoln and patriotic vignette. Lincoln gave the draft to the organizers of the 1863 Northwestern Sanitary Fair to be sold at auction and then donated to the Chicago Historical Society. Draft was bought by Thomas B. Bryan and given to the Soldiers Home before its display at the historical society.

Originally part of McAllister scrapbook of materials related to Abraham Lincoln.
