Description
Bust-length portrait of the British-born American journalist and explorer of Africa. Stanley, wearing a mustache and attired in a white collared shirt, a patterned tie with a pin, and a tweed jacket, faces left. Stanley, most known as the explorer who located David Livingstone, the British missionary in Africa, founded the Congo Free State in 1879.
