Description |
Scene depicting two African American women walking past the Swann Memorial Fountain at Logan Square in Philadelphia before
the installation of Alexander Stirling Calder's sculpted naiad figures in 1924. In the foreground, two women walk side-by-side
on the sidewalk in front of the active fountain. Walking on the inside, the woman is attired in a black dress, stockings,
and shoes, and the woman walking on the outside closer to the viewer is attired in a patterned dress, black stockings, and
shoes.
