Verse 1288: Luther C. Ladd, of Alexandria, N.H., was shot in the Baltimore riot, April 19th, 1861, and bled to death on the
same day. He was only 17 years of age. -- Just before he expired, he exclaimed -- "ALL HAIL TO THE STARS AND STRIPES."
