Notes Image: Depicts the main building (left) and the right wing, which housed the slavequarters and holding pen for "surplus" slaves that were headed to markets in Mississippi. Once owned by Franklin & Armfield, Price, Birch & Co. owned this slave pen during the Civil War, when it became a jail under Union occupation.
