LCP Minutes vol. 6, May 7, 1835, p. 80: "A letter was received from John Child offering to sell to this institution a clock
with an alarm to ring at sundown, which was referred to the committee of repairs and improvements with power to take order
on the subject." Vol. 6, June 4, 1835, p. 81: "Mr. Norris from the committee on repairs and improvements reported that they
had purchased the astronomical clock offered for sale to this institution by John Child for which they agreed to give one
hundred twenty five dollars." Vol. 6, Oct. 1, 1835, p. 85: “An order was drawn in favor of John Child for one hundred twenty
five dollars for an astronomical clock.”
