Publisher
[Philadelphia]
Date
[ca. 1860]
Physical Description
1 print: chromolithograph mounted on paper; 64 x 46 cm. (25.25 x 18.25 in.)
Description
Exterior view showing the greenstone church built 1858-1860 at 39th Street (i.e., Saunders Avenue) and Powelton Avenue in West Philadelphia. An iron fence surrounds the church and trees line the sidewalk in front of the sanctuary. A lot of land and a grove of trees flank the property. Exiting parishioners are visible in the doorway and individuals greet and converse with one another on the sidewalk as a horse-drawn buggy rushes past in the street. A new church building was completed on the site in 1876. Congregation organized October 1855.
