Description
Advertisement showing an exterior view of the building built 1873-5 after the designs of Furness & Hewitt. Several pedestrians stroll on the sidewalk, including a man with a cane, and patrons enter the safe deposit company. In the right of the image, shows the gates open to the alley leading to Carpenter's Hall, visible in the background. Also contains the names of six officers of the bank, including President Thomas Cochran, printed below the title. The Guarantee Trust and Safe Deposit Company, established in 1872, provided safe storage for securities, currency, jewelry, silver plate, and other valuables.
