Description Book illustration showing the Blue Anchor Tavern built circa 1682 and purchased by Thomas Budd in 1690 at the northwest corner of Front Street and Dock Creek (i.e., Dock Street). To the right of the image, the drawbridge over the creek is visible. Individuals walk along the banks of the waterway on which rowboats, one manned, are visible. Also shows neighboring buildings, including Budd's Long Row to which the tavern, painted with an anchor, is attached. The creek was covered 1767-1784 and the tavern was demolished in 1828.
