Description
View looking south showing the water works, forebay, and Fairmount, i.e., Reservoir Hill. Pedestrians stroll on the promenade of the mill house (right) and on the walkway near the engine house that leads to the pavilion on Fairmount. Pedestrians include couples and a family. Also shows swans swimming in the forebay. The Fairmount Water Works were originally built between 1812 and 1822 after the designs of Philadelphia engineer Frederick Graff
