Exterior view of the Blockley Alms House on the Schuylkill River from eastern bank including the Market Street Bridge, Beck's
shot tower, and a distant view of Eastern State Penitentiary. Almshouse, designed by Philadelphia architect William Strickland,
was constructed in 1833.
