Description
Lettersheet containing views of two Greek Revival buildings: Girard College at Girard Avenue near Corinthian Avenue and the Merchants' Exchange at 3rd and Walnut Streets. College buildings, designed by Thomas Ustick Walter, were constructed 1833-1847 as a school for orphans. Merchants' Exchange, designed by William Strickland and constructed 1832-33, was one of the earliest stock exchanges in the United States.
