Description
Proof for an advertisement showing the two-and-a-half story warehouse with numerous windows at the northeast corner of Eight and Zane streets. Patrons enter the entrances, including one adorned with signage, of the building. Sign advertises "Beds Hair Mattresses Cushions Feathers Moss Ticking Cotts Cattail." Bedding and bed posts are visible in or hang out of most of the warehouse windows. A stuffed swan standing among pillows is also visible in one of the lower windows. Bags of "Feathers" and bed posts lean against the building and mattresses and bed cushions are displayed on racks on the sidewalk. View also includes a fire hydrant and a boy walking past the warehouse. Frederick Fisher operated an upholstery business 1839-1853 and from the Eighth and Zane location 1844-1848.
