Description
Directory advertisement containing a montage of pictorial elements including a landscape view, and depictions of a Gothic-style church tower and bas-relief bust profile of Alois Senenfeder, the inventor of lithography. Landscape view includes a cow, horse, and sheep. Other details depict two cherubs reading a ledger near tools of the lithographic trade including a roller, paper, rag, scraper, and press. Floral and vinery ornamentations bordering a banner adorned with the firm's name and the bas-relief portrait also comprise the image. The Duval firm operated under the name P.S. Duval & Son or P.S Duval, Son & Co. circa 1857-circa 1879 and from 22 & 24 South 5th Street 1858-1869.
