Description
View of the hand-powered Philadelphia-style fire engine of the United States Fire Company that operated from Wood Street above Fourth. A firefighter, in uniform, and holding a trumpet stands with his back to the viewer next to the engine. His cape is labeled "United States." Engine contains double decker end-stroke hand pumpers and is adorned with an eagle ornament and a decorated compressor. Compressor contains plate depicting an American eagle with shield and is marked John Agnew Philadelphia No. 372. Print also contains a border with geometric details.
