Description
Exterior view of front facade of hospital building constructed 1856-1861 after designs by John M. Gries at 2100 North Forty-ninth Street. Building adorned with Gothic details, including narrow pointed arched windows, gable roofs, pinnacles and spires. A carriage drives away from the front entrance of the home along the same path where pedestrians stroll the grounds. Founded in 1772 by Dr. John Kearsley to support poor and widowed women of the Church of England.
